About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Centre Cook to join our vibrant team starting March 1, 2025. In this important role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals for our children on a daily basis.
As our Centre Cook, you will plan, prepare, and cook a culturally diverse menu that includes morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for 62 children each day, including 10 children under the age of 2. You will also create alternative meals to meet specific dietary needs, such as vegetarian and dairy-free options, ensuring that every child is well-nourished and happy.
In addition to meal preparation, you will manage food safety documentation to maintain our MPI registration and perform various kitchen-related tasks. This role requires efficiency, excellent time management, and a strong understanding of nutrition and healthy eating. This is a permanent part-time position, working 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with hours from 8:30 AM to 3 PM.

- Knowledge of health and safety standards in the kitchen, with a commitment to high hygiene and housekeeping standards
- A passion for cooking and baking
- Understanding of allergies and dietary requirements
- Computer literacy for menu design and weekly ordering
- Ability to manage food ordering within budget constraints
- A passion for promoting healthy eating among young children
