About the Role We are seeking a Travelling Technical Supervisor to join our team in Hamilton, a vibrant city nestled in the beautiful Waikato region, known for its lush landscapes and rich outdoor activities. In this role, you will engage in verification activities in accordance with current legislation and Overseas Market Access requirements, ensuring the issuance of official assurances for exports. This position involves auditing various sectors associated with animal products, including meat, dairy, seafood, and poultry. Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting verification activities across primary and secondary animal product processors. - Approving the transfer of animal products through documentation to provide final assurances for export. - Inspecting incoming animal products for further processing. - Efficiently managing your time and calendar in alignment with the workload set by your team leader. You will be based in Hamilton and will be part of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Circuit team, reporting to the Waikato Bay of Plenty Circuit Team Leader. This role falls under the Verification Services Directorate, where we provide essential food safety verification and certification services. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess: - A science degree, preferably in Food Science or Food Technology. - Experience in the food industry, with a solid understanding of HACCP principles. - Knowledge of verification principles, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Quality Assurance systems. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - A current full New Zealand driver’s license or an equivalent full foreign driver’s license, along with any necessary endorsements for the driving duties required in this role.
