About the Role We are expanding our Scholarships team and are looking for a Programme Lead - Scholarships to join us in a permanent, full-time capacity. This role is integral to the successful delivery of the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme, specifically overseeing the Thematic Short Term Training Scholarships (TSTTS) portfolio and the in-country English Language Training (IC-ELT) programme. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will develop and maintain processes and relationships that ensure the effective operation and delivery of the TSTTS and IC-ELT programmes. Your attention to detail, quality, and accuracy will be crucial as you undertake the following responsibilities: - Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Education NZ, MFAT, and New Zealand Post teams, to promote the programmes. - Lead the application process for TSTTS programmes, managing the application portal effectively. - Produce monthly activity reports, including data extraction and manipulation from the application portal. - Oversee financial management tasks, such as budget creation and reporting. - Manage pre-departure briefings, travel logistics, accommodation arrangements, stipends, orientation, and address escalated pastoral care issues. - Engage with providers to ensure the smooth delivery of the programmes. - Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities, including associated reporting. - Assist with other international and scholarship programmes and activities as needed. This role requires a balance of autonomy, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. You will receive comprehensive support from both the Wellington Uni-Professional scholarships and operations teams. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following qualifications and experience: - Proven experience in financial reporting and budget management. - High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with strong internet application skills. - Demonstrated project management skills and a results-oriented approach. - Understanding of adult education principles and practices. - Familiarity with tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and mātauranga Māori. - Effective understanding of cultural differences and their importance in the workplace. - Established networks within the public sector and related organizations. - Experience in business development activities. - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary.
