About the Role
In this permanent, full-time position, you will work Monday to Friday with occasional weekend responsibilities. As a Violence at Work Specialist, your primary focus will be to develop and effectively deliver services aimed at preventing and reducing workplace violence. You will lead initiatives that inform, educate, and support employees who encounter incidents of violence, ensuring that patients, families, and visitors feel safe, respected, and have their cultural needs met.
This role is essential in maintaining safety standards within New Zealand's healthcare sector. You will work to implement systems that enhance staff awareness, provide education and training, and promote risk mitigation strategies and de-escalation techniques throughout the Auckland District.
About the Team/Service
You will be part of a dedicated team of professionals committed to reducing workplace violence through specialized efforts. Our Violence Reduction Specialists collaborate with various disciplines, including clinical staff, health and safety officers, and healthcare security personnel, to promote safe practices and create a healthier work environment.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have experience in designing and delivering adult education programs, particularly in health, safety, and crime prevention. A relevant degree or substantial experience in these fields is essential. You should demonstrate an ability to create interactive learning experiences that empower individuals to effectively apply their knowledge in practical situations.
Additional qualifications include:
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience or relevant experience in safety services, crime prevention, or as a CPI Safety Intervention Trainer.
- Proven experience in facilitating and developing adult education initiatives.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
