About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Transmission Line Mechanic to join our team. In this full-time, permanent position, you will play a crucial role in our Transmission Lines Services Division, contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of our electricity network.
Your responsibilities will include identifying electrical systems in preparation for work, operating lines machinery and equipment, climbing and working on electricity network structures, and assessing the condition of electricity lines. You will also be involved in applying and removing earths from overhead electric line conductors, developing work plans for construction and servicing of overhead lines, and jointing overhead conductors. Additionally, you will repair and overhaul tower foundations, install and replace pole structures, and dismantle network lines and structures, including installations up to 110 kV.
Safety is paramount in our operations, so you will be expected to understand and implement our health and safety policies, taking personal responsibility for your own safety and that of your colleagues. You will also set a personal example in health and safety practices and participate in our worker participation initiatives.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a National Certificate Level 4 as a Transmission Line Mechanic, along with hands-on experience in Transmission Line work that meets industry standards. A thorough understanding of current regulatory and industry requirements is essential, as is the flexibility to adapt to adverse weather and other conditions. A full New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence is also required.
