About the Company
Tradestaff Global is a leading provider of skilled tradespeople, and we are currently seeking expressions of interest from various trades to work at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the Summer 2025/26 season. This is an exceptional opportunity to experience one of the most remote yet stunning locations in the world.
About the Role
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team for a significant construction project at McMurdo Station. Deployments are expected to take place from approximately October 2025 to March 2026. The roles we have available require hard-working team players who are willing to contribute on-site and support one another throughout the challenging environment.
We have a variety of positions available, including:
- Commercial Plumbers with a current Certifying Licence
- HVAC Technicians
- Duct Installers
- Commercial Electricians with a current NZ Practising Licence
- Pipe Welders with a current ASME 9 Ticket
- Pipe Fitters
- Qualified Commercial Carpenters/Builders (Trade Qualified)
Requirements
Due to travel restrictions, we can only accept applications from New Zealand and US citizens who are currently and permanently living and working in New Zealand.
Additionally, candidates must:
- Be willing to receive vaccinations for Flu, Tdap, and MMR
- Understand that these roles are not ‘fly in, fly out’ (FIFO) and may require extended periods on-site
- Work long hours, six days per week
- Be prepared for a lengthy application process, which includes medical and dental checks, security clearance, and passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Hold a Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and possess a clean criminal record
- Be comfortable traveling to Tauranga for medical and dental examinations; we will cover travel expenses for those coming from outside the Bay of Plenty
