About the Role We are seeking a passionate General Physician to join our team at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim. In this full-time role, you will participate in the general medicine acute roster with an average of four hours of call-back per week. You will play a vital role in teaching and developing our junior medical workforce while contributing to the overall delivery of care within our multidisciplinary team. As part of your responsibilities, you will partner with primary and tertiary care providers to enhance the health of the Marlborough region's population. If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in a beautiful part of New Zealand, we would love to hear from you. About the Team/Service/Location Wairau Hospital is a modern, well-equipped secondary care facility serving approximately 45,000 people in the Marlborough region. Our general medicine service provides high-quality acute inpatient and outpatient care, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team. We maintain close links with Nelson Hospital and various tertiary centers, ensuring excellent patient care and professional development opportunities. You will be joining a small, supportive team of experienced physicians, including those with Rural Hospital backgrounds, all of whom are dedicated to general medicine. Our team works closely with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and primary care providers to ensure an integrated, patient-centered approach to care. Local services include Emergency, Pediatrics, Specialist Health of Older Persons, Orthopedics, General Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. A commitment to continuing medical education and professional development is essential. Additionally, we seek candidates who are competent in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or who are willing to embark on this learning journey. Experience in projects or initiatives that align with Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, particularly in healthcare settings, is highly regarded.
