About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to join our Adult Community Mental Health team in Blenheim. This is a permanent, full-time position with the possibility of part-time work being negotiable. Our team offers a supportive environment, comprising medical officers, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, registered nurses, social workers, and employment specialists. The successful applicant will provide quality psychiatric services to a population of approximately 49,000 in Blenheim, with no on-call or weekend requirements, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
- Eligibility for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Experience in consult-liaison psychiatry is preferred but not essential
- A commitment to collaborative practice, fostering a team culture of openness, humor, and respect across disciplines
- A dedication to continuing medical education and professional development

Benefits
The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement, dependent on your skills, experience, and vocational registration in New Zealand. In addition to your salary, we offer:
- An annual allowance to cover continued medical education expenses, including associated travel and accommodation costs, along with paid time off to attend events such as international conferences
- Access to an employer-matched superannuation contribution of up to 6% of annual earnings
