About the Role
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Support Worker to cover leave within our Taranaki residential services. In this busy and diverse role, you will support individuals in various aspects of daily life, assisting them in activities such as swimming, personal care, meal preparation, household management, and teaching essential life skills. The responsibilities are extensive and rewarding.
As a Support Worker, you will be part of a collaborative team that operates on a shift basis, providing 24/7 support. Some rosters may also offer the potential for additional sleepover payments.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others, with a kind and understanding nature. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly with disabilities and challenging behaviors, it is not mandatory.
A full driver's license is essential for this role. We value initiative, energy, and an ability to think creatively to help individuals achieve their goals. Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles is crucial. Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a roster, including weekends, is also a requirement. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important, as the individuals we support come from various backgrounds with unique needs and interests.
