About the Role
We are currently seeking a Finance Team member to report directly to our Finance Manager. This role is essential to our Finance Team and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management reports
- Reviewing all Job Costing reports
- Preparing journals and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Supporting cash flow forecasting
- Developing and strengthening internal controls, systems, and financial processes
- Managing asset reporting, including Plant Utilisation and the setup of new assets
- Overseeing stock reporting
- Ensuring compliance with GST and other statutory obligations
- Providing financial analysis and modeling for business cases
- Preparing Monthly Finance Board Reports and attending Board Meetings as required
- Contributing to the budgeting process and performing ad hoc reporting
- Assisting with the preparation of Statutory accounts and disclosure notes
- Responding to queries from auditors and preparing supporting information
- Conducting internal audits of financial processes and systems
Additionally, you will be the office champion for IT-related matters, continuously reviewing processes and systems for best practices, assisting team members in troubleshooting, and supporting other functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashbook, and Payroll when necessary.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting role
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or part-qualified status
- Excellent proficiency in Excel
- Experience in the construction industry (preferred)
- Familiarity with Accredo software (preferred)
- Experience in preparing statutory accounts (preferred)
This position is based at our Trenching Dynamix office in Christchurch, with travel to the West Coast required approximately 3-4 days per month.
