About the Role
We are currently seeking Anaesthetists to join our team at Wairarapa Hospital. In this role, you will be one of five Anaesthetists providing comprehensive services both publicly and privately to the Wairarapa population. Additionally, you will support the hospital’s High Dependency Unit.
We have full-time and part-time positions available, with an on-call requirement of 1 in 5. To be eligible, applicants must hold or be eligible for Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.

Wairarapa Hospital serves a population of approximately 50,000, offering 24-hour acute and elective care across various specialties, including general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and paediatrics. We operate both public and private theatre sessions covering a range of surgical specialties.
We are committed to clinical excellence and encourage our Senior Medical Staff to participate in clinical audits and peer reviews to ensure high-quality clinical care.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are registered as Medical Practitioners with the Medical Council of New Zealand or are eligible for registration. You should hold a higher qualification relevant to the specialty that is recognized by the Medical Council for specialist registration.
