About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant with basic baking skills to join our Bakery Department. This hands-on role will involve supporting our Lead Baker in a fast-paced and professional kitchen environment.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, baking, and daily operations. A key aspect of this role is ensuring high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with our HACCP program. While you will initially work in our Central Production Kitchen, there may be opportunities to relocate to another University College within the Dunedin campus, depending on operational needs.
Further Details
This is a permanent, full-time position that operates only during the academic semester (38 weeks a year, from February to November). The work hours are set for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, although these hours may be adjusted based on business requirements. The position is scheduled to commence in June 2025.
The hourly wage for this role ranges from $25.53 to $26.56. Please note, candidates must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand to apply. We will only consider applicants who have prior experience working in the baking section of a commercial kitchen.
