At Otago University, our Campus and Collegiate Life Services Division is proud to provide world-class services that enhance the unique Otago experience and foster the collegiate spirit of our institution. Our College Catering team operates a large-scale food service, producing over 8,500 meals daily for eleven University Colleges.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our team in the sushi section of our Central Production Kitchen. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about sushi preparation and possess a solid background in commercial kitchens.
In this role, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of sushi items. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with our HACCP program. Additionally, you will collaborate effectively as part of a busy and fast-paced team.
Further Details
This is a permanent, full-time position that operates only during the academic semesters (38 weeks per year, from February to November) and is based in Dunedin. The working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the possibility of adjustments based on business needs. The role is set to commence in June 2025, with an hourly wage ranging from $25.53 to $26.56.
