About the Role
We are seeking a Research Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Christchurch Hospital. This permanent position is full-time, requiring 40 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In this role, you will deliver specialized research nursing care and support to study participants involved in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with treatment guidelines and research study protocols.
As a Research Nurse Coordinator within the Haematology Service, you will take the lead on coordinating commercial and collaborative randomized clinical studies involving investigational medications and other therapies. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of clinical trial coordination, from initial set-up to final close-out, while providing high-quality nursing care to haematology patients participating in these trials.
About the Service
The primary goal of our Haematology clinical trials program is to adhere to all international regulatory guidelines while strictly following protocol-specified schedules. Our aim is to enhance the standards of care for our patients by engaging in well-designed clinical trials that provide access to innovative treatments typically unavailable in New Zealand.
About You
To excel in this position, you will possess expert nursing knowledge alongside extensive clinical experience, particularly in haematology, which is highly advantageous. You should demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, both professionally and personally.
Experience in clinical research, including coordination of clinical trials, is beneficial. You will need to exhibit meticulous organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. Familiarity with data management principles is also advantageous. It is essential that you practice professionally, adhering to the regulations governing clinical and research practices, and work within established research protocols and guidelines.
Your personal attributes will include a strong work ethic, reliability, and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently. You should be adept at collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and prioritizing your workload effectively. Critical thinking skills are necessary for conducting thorough patient assessments and planning appropriate interventions as part of the clinical research team.
Requirements

- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
