About the Role Our Social Work Services at Christchurch Hospital are seeking an experienced health Social Worker to join our team in a casual position. This role will involve working across the Christchurch campus, where we provide a 24-hour social work service, seven days a week, as part of a multi-disciplinary team that takes a holistic approach to patient care. In this position, you will conduct psychosocial assessments in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the needs associated with an individual’s admission and provide appropriate support. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting psychosocial assessments, monitoring, and support for individuals in alignment with the ANZASW Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, as well as the SWRB Core Competency Standards. - Participating in social work team and staff meetings. - Providing coverage for our 24-hour social work service as needed on a rostered basis. - Engaging in service development and quality assurance initiatives. About You To thrive in this role, you will need to collaborate effectively with various multidisciplinary teams, making adaptability and teamwork essential qualities. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: - A passion for working with adults, children, and their families/whanau. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. - Hospital experience is advantageous, particularly in areas such as Care and Protection, Family Harm, and Trauma. - Competency in te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori, or a commitment to starting this learning journey and taking ownership of your professional growth. - A current NZ Registration as a Social Worker with the Social Work Registration Board is required.
