About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Weekend Cook to join our team at CHT David Lange, an aged care facility located in South Auckland. This is a permanent part-time position, requiring 24 hours of work per week. Your schedule will include 4 hours on Fridays and Mondays, as well as 8 hours on Saturdays and Sundays. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills by preparing and delivering fresh, nutritional meals for our residents.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing, baking, cooking, and presenting a variety of innovative and delicious dishes for our residents.
- Maintaining awareness of allergens and providing options for nutritional healthy eating.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
About You
We are looking for someone who possesses strong leadership skills and takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. A friendly and helpful demeanor is essential, as you will be interacting with our residents and clients.
Ideally, you will have experience working in a commercial kitchen and be familiar with bulk food cooking, particularly in an aged care setting. A food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) is preferred, but we are willing to provide training if necessary. You should be able to work independently and confidently, and most importantly, demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service, and quality.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Experience in a commercial kitchen, particularly in bulk food cooking.
- A food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) or a willingness to train for one.
- A friendly and professional attitude.
- The ability to work independently.
- A strong passion for food and customer service.
