As we continue to grow, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team. About the Role We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join us in our Auckland location. This full-time, permanent position offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the possibility of working up to 50 hours. The salary for this role ranges from $27 to $35 per hour, depending on skills and experience. In this role, you will follow established recipes while being open to adjusting ingredients as necessary. You will measure and mix ingredients, bake items, and prepare pastry fillings. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing items for sale, which includes icing and decorating cakes. You will also ensure the cleanliness of equipment and the operation of our premises before production runs, adhering to occupational health and safety regulations. Your responsibilities will include checking the quality of raw materials, kneading and shaping dough, monitoring oven temperatures, and coordinating the baking process for various bread and pastry products. As part of your daily tasks, you will glaze and decorate baked goods, operate machinery for rolling and cutting dough, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. You will handle customer orders, prepare sandwiches and other items, and assist with deliveries as needed. Flexibility is essential, as tasks may vary from day to day. Requirements To be successful in this position, you should have a minimum of two years of relevant experience or a Level 4 qualification in baking, pastry, or a related field. The ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, is necessary. We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. A genuine passion for baking and good personal hygiene practices are also essential.
