About the Company
We are currently seeking dedicated labourers for our client, a reputable organization that specializes in processing rock samples in a laboratory setting at Macraes Mine, located inland from Palmerston. Our client offers a dynamic work environment, and we are looking for individuals ready to contribute to their important operations.
About the Role
In this position, you will play a key role in processing rock samples through various stages of analysis. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery to crush samples, bagging and tagging samples for identification, and moving heavy trolleys loaded with sample trays between work areas. Due to the nature of the work environment, you will be required to wear a full head-cover breathing apparatus for safety, as it can be dusty and noisy.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Demonstrate flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, either from 06:30 to 18:30 or from 18:30 to 06:30
- Be able to commit to a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, alternating between day and night shifts
Benefits
We offer competitive compensation and benefits for this role, including:
- A pay rate of $28 per hour
- Guaranteed 48 hours of work per rotation, with all breaks paid (90 minutes per day)
- Transportation provided, with a bus leaving Dunedin 1.5 hours prior to the start of each shift
