About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and driven individual to join Team Mack as an Engineering Officer - Transport.
In this key position, you will coordinate and manage the use of the road corridor while providing essential administrative and technical support to both the Roading Manager and the Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day supervision of the Council's physical works contracts, ensuring that these projects are accurately recorded, meet quality standards, and prioritize safety. Additionally, you will support the Council's asset information management in GIS and other database systems, including RAMM.
About You
We are looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about continuous improvement and eager to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes for our stakeholders at Mackenzie District Council.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a technical support role
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering is highly desirable, though not essential
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in Civil Engineering and/or Local Government
- A current and full driver's license
- Proficiency in MS Suite and strong overall computer literacy
- The ability to work well within a team and strong written and verbal communication skills
This is a full-time, permanent position, requiring 40 hours of work per week, based in Fairlie, South Canterbury. We invite you to consider living, working, and playing in the magnificent Mackenzie.
