Welder/Fabricator Team Lead

We are currently seeking a skilled Team Leader who can help us enhance our operations and drive team performance. About the Role As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in our fast-paced workshop, overseeing a team of welders and fabricators. Your expertise in trailer construction will be essential as you lead efforts to maintain quality, efficiency, and team development. This is a hands-on position where you will not only supervise but also actively participate in welding and fabrication tasks. What You Will Do In this role, you will: - Lead and mentor a team of welders and fabricators in the production of trailers and custom builds. - Read and interpret technical drawings, ensuring that all projects are completed to specifications. - Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity throughout the workshop. - Coordinate daily workloads, allocate tasks, and oversee job timelines. - Assist with welding and fabrication when necessary, as this role requires active participation in the workshop. - Provide training, support, and constructive feedback to both new and existing team members. What We Are Looking For We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria: - Proven experience in welding and metal fabrication, particularly in trailer manufacturing or heavy vehicle builds. - Strong leadership or supervisory experience in a fabrication or workshop setting. - Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, as well as familiarity with various fabrication tools and machinery. - Ability to manage a team under tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality outcomes. - A proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety. Desirable (but not essential): - Relevant trade qualifications or certifications. - Experience leading a team in an engineering environment. Why Join Us?
