About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified Refrigeration or Engineering Technician to join our high-performing team as an On-Farm Refrigeration Service Technician. This position is based in either Southland or Taranaki, where you will play an essential role in servicing on-farm milk cooling and tank solutions. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the dairy industry while enjoying the variety and independence that comes with the role.
What You Will Be Doing
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced milk cooling and dairy automation systems.
- Providing exceptional on-farm service and after-sales support, becoming a trusted representative of our technical expertise.
- Offering hands-on customer training to help farmers maximize the use of their systems.
- Collaborating with contractors, providing technical advice, and assisting with field installations and events such as Field Days.
- Engaging in continuous learning and helping shape training programs and standard operating procedures.
- Reporting insights, competitor activity, and innovations through our CRM tools.
What You Will Bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Trade certification in Refrigeration, Electrical, or Engineering.
- Registration (or the ability to register) as an Electrical Service Technician.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a service or technical role, with agricultural exposure being a plus.
- Strong fault-finding abilities, a systematic approach to problem-solving, and confidence in working independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Comfort with technology, including managing your own schedule and reporting key insights.
