About the Role
We are currently seeking a talented individual for a role that combines sales and account management. In this position, you will manage and expand our Asian business within an established customer portfolio while also building relationships with new customers in the region. There is significant opportunity to increase our market share in Asia.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Identifying sales opportunities with both existing and new customers.
- Maintaining regular contact with customers to stay ahead of their needs.
- Collaborating with colleagues and communicating with customers regarding stock availability, delivery times, and pricing.
- Attending building industry and trade events to keep abreast of market trends.
- Developing relationships within the community and promoting brand awareness.
This is a permanent, full-time position offering 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, based in our Christchurch branches. The salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience. Additionally, the position includes a company vehicle and an incentive scheme with the potential to earn an average of $6,000 annually.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a passion for building rapport and long-lasting customer relationships. Key qualifications include:
- Proven experience in Sales, Account Management, or Business Development.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Malay, and English; proficiency in other Chinese dialects is advantageous.
- Connections within the wider Asian community.
- Involvement in professional organizations within the building industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of the building industry or construction processes, with experience using Builder Trend preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mentality.
- A robust sales drive and resilience, with a solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills, a highly motivated attitude, and an exceptional work ethic.
- A community-minded individual focused on establishing long-term, credible relationships.
- A clean, full New Zealand driver's license.
