Description
About the Company
Mitre 10 MEGA is New Zealand's leading home improvement store, proudly owned and operated by the Ricketts family in Napier and Hastings since 1961. Our journey began with humble beginnings, and we have grown into one of the largest retail businesses in the Bay, employing over 250 local team members. We are committed to excellence, driven by a customer-centric approach, honesty, fairness, and teamwork. Our people are our greatest asset, and we strive to create a supportive work environment.
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Building Products department. In this role, you will assist our trade and DIY customers both in the drive-thru and yard. Your responsibilities will include picking customer orders, ensuring stock is replenished and properly stored, preparing trucks for deliveries, and consistently providing excellent customer service.
This position is physically demanding, requiring you to lift timber and other materials while being on your feet throughout the day.
Requirements
We are looking for team players with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a solid work ethic. While previous customer service experience or knowledge of building and timber products is advantageous, we value candidates whose personal values align with ours.
To qualify for this position, you must hold a full Class 1 Driver's Licence, and an F endorsement is preferred. If you possess a full licence and are eager to learn, we will provide forklift licence training.
Benefits
At Mitre 10 MEGA, we offer a competitive hourly rate along with a Health Assistance Scheme, structured team discounts, and workplace stability. There are numerous opportunities for upskilling, including Retail Certificates and forklift licence training, as well as career progression opportunities.
While experience in customer service is essential, having knowledge of building products will give you an edge over other applicants. This role offers a chance to demonstrate your skills and become an essential member of our Drive-thru Team.
You will report to the Building Supplies Manager, and the role involves full-time hours (80 hours per fortnight) on a roster that includes some weekend shifts.
If you believe you can contribute to our 'One Team' culture, even if you are new to the workforce or think you may lack specific skills, we encourage you to apply. Please forward your CV and cover letter through our website. We look forward to hearing from you.
