Retail Assistants - Part Time

About the Role As a Retail Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our store. Unlike other staff members who are assigned to specific departments, you will report directly to the Assistant Store Manager and be assigned to different areas throughout your workweek. This means that your responsibilities may vary from assisting in the Butchery during Meat Week to supporting the Click & Collect team during staff absences. You will work across all departments, including Fresh Food Departments such as Produce, Butchery, Seafood, Service Deli, and Bakery, as well as Grocery, Coldshelf/Frozen Foods, Trolleys, Customer Service, and the Storeroom. Your main objective will be to ensure that each department is well-stocked, clean, and presented attractively, while also maintaining accurate pricing and product availability during store hours. The positions available are as follows: Position #1: Sunday & Monday, 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM (16 hours per week) Position #2: Saturday, Sunday & Monday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (24 hours per week) Your tasks may include: - Serving customers - Assisting with stock movement in the Inwards Goods Department using pallet jacks and forklifts - Ensuring accurate pricing and ticketing - Stocking shelves and displays across various departments, including merchandising products like fruit, meat, hot chickens, bread, milk, ice cream, and grocery items - Personal shopping for Click & Collect - Collecting customer trolleys Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities: - Ability to work independently and productively - Attention to detail and a commitment to presentation - Adaptability and quick thinking - A positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills - Reliability and punctuality Please note that the role involves physical tasks, including lifting and stacking items. A good level of fitness and strength is necessary, as you may need to handle heavier products, such as bags of potatoes, boxes of soft drinks, sacks of rice, and crates of pumpkins.
