About the Role
We are currently seeking a Cook/Chef to join our team in a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the lives of our residents through the preparation of delicious and nutritious meals. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving a diverse range of menu items that cater to the individual dietary needs of our residents.
This position requires flexibility, as you will need to work at least one weekend day, and we do not have late-night shifts. We hope to have someone start in early to mid-January.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Menu planning and implementation
- Food preparation
- Adhering to food hygiene and safety standards
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement menu programs that meet our residents' specific food and nutritional requirements
- Prepare and cook meals that are delivered to residents who are unable to visit the café
- Cook short orders for café customers
- Assist in developing an appealing specials menu for the café
- Ensure compliance with the approved Food Control Plan and provide support to the kitchen team
Requirements
- A relevant NZQA culinary qualification or equivalent
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Cook or Chef
- A sound understanding of Food Safety Plans
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required
