About the Role ACG Parnell College, part of ACG Schools, is an independent co-educational school located in Parnell, Auckland, catering to students from Year 0 to Year 13. Our mission is to prepare students for a lifetime of learning by equipping them with the academic, sporting, and cultural skills needed to become balanced and independent global citizens. We are currently seeking a dedicated Science Technician who will play a vital role in maintaining resources and practical equipment within the Science Faculty. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and creativity to the classroom, fostering a scientific mindset among students. This is a permanent, part-time position (30 hours per week) that will operate during term time only, commencing in June 2025. Key Responsibilities - Sourcing chemicals and equipment as required - Advising Science staff on the appropriate use of banned substances in schools - Preparing resources for practical lessons - Maintaining an inventory of all purchased chemicals and equipment - Storing laboratory chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with Health and Safety regulations - Ensuring that safety signs are properly displayed - Verifying the effectiveness of safety mechanisms within the laboratory - Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized laboratory and prep room environment - Repairing and maintaining equipment as needed The Ideal Candidate Will Have - Previous experience in a similar role - Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively Safeguarding Statement Inspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
