Description
About the Company
At INTEC Energy Solutions, we pride ourselves on being more than just an EPC and O&M provider. We are pioneers in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio that includes over 3.9 GW of constructed and secured pipeline projects worldwide. As a leader in turnkey solar and battery energy storage (BESS) solutions, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, sustainable energy infrastructure that truly makes a difference.
About the Role
We are currently looking for a commercially savvy and contract-focused Project Contracts Administrator to join our team based in Christchurch. This role is crucial for supporting the successful delivery of large-scale EPC renewable energy projects across New Zealand. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy collaborating across disciplines to drive commercial success, this position may be a perfect fit for you.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will administer complex EPC project contracts from pre-construction through to close-out, ensuring that obligations and risks are effectively managed. Your responsibilities will include drafting, issuing, and managing contract notices and formal communications in accordance with AS/NEC standards and EPC terms. You will lead the preparation and coordination of time and cost-based claims, safeguarding INTEC’s rights and commercial interests.
Collaboration is key, as you will work with procurement and planning teams to develop sub-contracts, consultancy agreements, and contract schedules. You will also track commercial deliverables throughout project phases and maintain accurate registers, forecasts, and variation documentation. Your expertise will help identify commercial risks, and you will support the implementation of mitigation and optimization strategies.
Additionally, you will provide expert contractual guidance to project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure alignment and compliance. You will support dispute resolution processes and assist with insurance matters, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will have 5 to 8 years of experience in contract administration or commercial roles, ideally on major EPC or infrastructure projects with Tier 1 contractors. A degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. You should possess a deep understanding of AS/NZS and NEC contracts, along with expertise in claims preparation.
Strong written communication skills and commercial analysis capabilities are essential. Proficiency in platforms such as Aconex, Procore, and scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project) is also important. You must be able to manage competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Professional membership (e.g., NZIQS, Engineering New Zealand, RICS) or postgraduate legal qualifications (LLB/LLM, admission to the High Court of New Zealand) will be highly regarded. Experience in the renewable energy, civil construction, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
Why Join Us?
By joining INTEC Energy Solutions, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of critical energy transition projects within a rapidly growing EPC team. You will be able to influence project outcomes through proactive and strategic contract management.
We value collaboration across disciplines, allowing you to work alongside experienced professionals in engineering, construction, and commercial functions. While contributing to global renewable energy goals, you will also make a tangible impact in the Australia-New Zealand region.
At INTEC, we work with purpose, helping to deliver sustainable energy projects that benefit both people and the planet. If you are ready to contribute your expertise to high-impact renewable energy projects and ensure they are delivered with precision and professionalism, we encourage you to apply online.
