About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated professional for a permanent full-time position at our Canterbury plant on Seafield Road, Ashburton. This role reports to our Engineering & Site Services Manager and focuses on managing the planning and scheduling of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of work order flow management standards, including work scopes and estimates related to labor, materials, equipment, and service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your duties will include:
- Ensuring the timely availability of the weekly forecasting plan
- Distributing weekly forecasting work packs promptly
- Running and distributing reports necessary for effective planning and scheduling
- Preparing shutdown plans for process areas, including minor routine and major shutdowns
- Conducting and coordinating planning meetings and briefing sessions
- Maximizing the utilization of resources for maintenance work
- Providing reports as required for both internal and external customers
- Planning the functions of the maintenance team to ensure effective completion of work
- Promoting a proactive safety culture within the team and with contractors
Requirements
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate, or relevant Engineering qualifications, is desirable
- Supervisory or maintenance knowledge
- A minimum of 5 years of experience post-trade, with at least 3 years in a similar supervisory or leadership role
- Financial skills, including estimating, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting
- A sound understanding of technical maintenance techniques
- Familiarity with production processes, including technical process and equipment experience
- Experience in shutdown and maintenance planning
- Proficiency with CMMS, MS Project applications, and Excel
