About the Role We have a full-time, permanent position available at our Canterbury plant located on Seafield Road, Ashburton. This role operates on a rotating roster, providing an excellent opportunity for a better work-life balance. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Engineering team. Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment throughout the site. Your efforts will help ensure that our production processes run efficiently and safely, in compliance with all regulatory requirements. We operate in a fast-paced and hands-on environment, so we are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and ready to tackle a variety of maintenance challenges. Key Activities - Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems - Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize downtime - Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns and urgent repairs - Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards - Collaborate with production and engineering teams - Accurately document all maintenance work and equipment issues - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives - Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment when required Requirements - Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field - Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or processing environment - Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - A strong commitment to health and safety practices - Willingness to work on a rotating roster Benefits We are committed to supporting and developing our people, offering a competitive remuneration package.
