About the Role
We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity available at our Canterbury plant located on Seafield Road, Ashburton. This role operates on a rotating roster, providing an excellent chance to achieve a better work-life balance.
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Engineering team by installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment throughout the site. Your efforts will ensure that our production processes run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Our work environment is fast-paced and hands-on, so we seek an organized and proactive individual ready to tackle a variety of maintenance challenges.
Key Activities
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns and urgent repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams.
- Accurately document all maintenance work and equipment issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment as required.
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- Willingness to work on a rotating roster.
