    Description

About the Company Tradestaff Global is a leading provider of skilled labor solutions in the construction industry. We are currently seeking qualified HVAC Engineers with commercial experience to join our team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the Summer 2025/26 season. About the Role This unique opportunity involves working at one of the most isolated yet stunning locations in the world. Deployments are anticipated from approximately October 2025 through to March 2026. The work environment will require hard-working team players who are willing to engage in hands-on tasks and support their colleagues. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be involved in a large commercial construction project. Candidates must possess commercial experience with boilers, HVAC fans, unit heaters, hydronic pumps, wall radiators, and pipe fitting. Requirements We have specific requirements for this role. Due to travel restrictions, we can only consider New Zealand and US citizens who are currently and permanently residing in New Zealand. Candidates must also be comfortable receiving Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations. This position is not a ‘fly in fly out’ role; you will be stationed on-site for an extended period, typically working long hours, six days a week. Start dates are approximate and depend on passing medical and dental examinations, obtaining security clearance, fulfilling notice periods, and ice flight availability. Additionally, a pre-employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory. A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are required. The application process may be lengthy, so patience is essential. You will need to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams, but we will cover the costs of testing and flights if you are traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty. Benefits We offer competitive compensation at a rate of $73.64 per hour, with payments made on a contract basis and paid fortnightly in New Zealand dollars for 54 hours a week. We provide flights from any major New Zealand airport, food, shared accommodation, and travel insurance. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be supplied. While the work is demanding, it provides an opportunity to save money, gain invaluable experience, and establish lasting friendships. If you have ever dreamed of this type of adventure, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. What Now? To apply, please submit your application online along with an up-to-date CV that highlights your commercial construction skills and experience. If your application is successful, we will reach out to you with further details regarding the interview process. Candidates should possess IT literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex paperwork. Adventure awaits; do not miss this exceptional opportunity. Please note that we can only accept online applications, and you will receive an automatic acknowledgment upon successful submission. We also offer a wide variety of roles across the construction industry, including positions for Carpenters, Machine Operators, Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Technicians, Duct Installers, Pipefitters, Welders, and many more.
