About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and solutions-focused HRIS Analyst to join our team. This role is essential in bridging technology, data, and people, and is ideal for someone who enjoys navigating complexity to enable informed decision-making and enhance systems that support the wellbeing of our workforce.
In this pivotal position, you will support the HRIS and Payroll functions for one of the largest health workforces in Aotearoa. Your responsibilities will include:
- Extracting and interpreting HR and Payroll data for reporting, planning, audits, and national compliance.
- Providing workforce insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Managing system improvements, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to enhance HRIS functionality.
- Advocating for data quality, digital tools, and process improvements.
- Supporting compliance, equity, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations through robust data and systems.

About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for utilizing data to solve problems.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale Payroll or HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in SQL, SSRS, and Power BI reporting, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
- The ability to collaborate across teams and translate technical information into actionable insights.
- An understanding of data security, digital tools, and system integrations.
- A commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and creating culturally safe systems.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Knowledge of workforce classification systems and HR processes.
- Experience in the health sector or a strong interest in improving it.
- Background in supporting HR/Payroll system upgrades and collaborating with external vendors.
