About the Role
We are currently seeking a first-year Teacher in Training or Caregiver to join our team. We are looking for someone who naturally builds relationships through care, communicates with respect, and is passionate about supporting positive learning outcomes for all children.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of young children by providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will work as part of a motivated team, reporting to our Centre Manager and collaborating with passionate teachers who are committed to delivering quality care and education.
This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday. We seek someone flexible and committed to working rostered shifts as part of our collaborative team.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional and responsive care and education to our tamariki
- Supporting learning through play, meaningful interactions, and engaging learning opportunities
- Assisting across both classrooms and covering staff breaks
- Contributing to all center routines
- Documenting children's learning and assisting with planning and assessment
- Supporting center events
- Participating in team meetings and embracing our center philosophy
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A genuine love for children, particularly in being responsive to infants and toddlers
- Experience working with children under five
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude, with the ability to work effectively in a team
- A high level of initiative and a willingness to reflect and accept feedback
- A commitment to incorporating Te Reo and tikanga Māori into daily practice
- An Early Childhood Education qualification is not required for this role, but you should be working towards one.
