Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC) is one of the largest providers of social and health services in New Zealand. Our dedicated East Coast team consists of over 200 staff members and 100 volunteers who deliver vital services, including Enliven and Family Works in Hawke’s Bay, as well as operate two charity shops. Our mission is to ensure that older individuals can lead fulfilling lives as valued members of our community through our Enliven Intensive Home Support service.
About the Role
We are currently seeking permanent part-time Community Support Workers to join our teams in Napier, Taradale, Hastings, and Havelock North. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our clients' lives every day.
As a Community Support Worker, no two days will be the same. You will work with clients who have diverse support needs, providing them with the assistance they require to live independently in their own homes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting clients with domestic duties, shopping, meal preparation, and housework
- Assisting with activities of daily living
- Providing personal care, including showering and dressing
- Overseeing and assisting with medication
- Implementing individualized care plans as outlined for each client
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives, although previous care support experience is not required.
The ideal candidate will need to:
- Be available to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends on a rostered basis
- Have a good command of the English language to communicate effectively with clients
- Hold a full or restricted driver's license and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Reside in New Zealand and have full rights to work
