About the Role We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Network Inspector to join our team in Porirua. As part of our high-performing transport services team, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellence across our civil engineering and road corridor maintenance operations. In your role as a Network Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing quality, safety, and performance of the road network. Your duties will include leading inspections, identifying faults, and supporting the implementation of effective maintenance strategies. This position is key to achieving contract outcomes, optimizing treatment selection, and helping Downer meet target returns. Your responsibilities will include: - Regularly inspecting the carriageway and corridor assets, both in the field and virtually. - Identifying, marking, classifying, and recording defects using AWM Mobile, AWM HTML, or other job management tools. - Capturing comprehensive asset and fault details, including root causes, photographs, and severity ratings. - Directing cyclic crews to ensure efficient completion of works and auditing completed work with a focus on quality and safety. - Ensuring data accuracy and adhering to all quality control and as-built documentation standards. - Responding to customer queries and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. Requirements To succeed in this role, you should have an organized and systematic approach, along with a proven track record in network inspection and fault identification/treatment selection, preferably within the maintenance roading industry. We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills: - Proven experience in network inspection and fault identification in road maintenance or civil infrastructure. - Familiarity with maintenance intervention strategies and treatment selection. - Competence using tablets, AWM or other job management systems, and Go Pro (or similar) devices. - Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders. - A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. - Self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to problem-solve, plan, listen, and make decisions.
