About the Role We are currently seeking a Deputy Director, International (Manutaki Tuarua) to join our Wellington University International (WUI) team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will align our strategies and operations with the overarching goals of the university's Strategic Plan. Your leadership will be essential in driving international engagement, achieving growth in student enrollments, expanding transnational education offerings, and enhancing the quality of service delivery throughout the student lifecycle. Key responsibilities of this position include: - Leading and developing high-performing teams to achieve admissions, conversion, and enrollment targets while providing them with the support and resources needed to excel in their roles. - Developing and implementing robust strategic plans for WUI, ensuring that targets are informed by quality data and market intelligence. - Delivering high-quality information and advice, optimizing staff performance, and ensuring that targets are met across all areas of responsibility. - Establishing the university's reputation in international education through distinctive initiatives and thought leadership. - Ensuring compliance with the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. As the Deputy Director, you will also deputize for the Director, International during periods of travel or leave, which may involve international travel. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess: - Extensive knowledge of international education and a proven track record of working effectively with diverse groups, including academic and professional staff. - Strong experience in leading and managing high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams. - Significant experience in internationalization programs, market development, and business planning. - In-depth knowledge of the global education landscape, including key education systems in priority countries. - A high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to engage confidently and passionately at all levels.
