About the Role We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Kaitaupua Whaiwāhi Ako - Academic Inclusion Coordinator to join our Te Amaru - Disability Services team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our services provide high-quality academic inclusion support for students with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of academic inclusion staff, which currently consists of Senior Academic Inclusion Assistants, Academic Inclusion Assistants, and Sign Language Interpreters. Key Responsibilities - Recruit and select academic inclusion staff with the appropriate skills and experience to deliver quality support for disabled students in a timely manner. - Provide comprehensive training and resources to academic inclusion staff to ensure their effectiveness in their roles. - Manage the scheduling and allocation of staff tasks, taking into account student needs, subject expertise, and availability. - Regularly monitor and enhance the quality of services provided by academic inclusion staff, incorporating student feedback. - Offer constructive feedback, support, and problem-solving assistance to staff as needed. - Ensure timely communication of support confirmations to students, instilling confidence in the services they receive. - Foster a sense of belonging and engagement among academic inclusion staff within the Te Amaru - Disability Services team. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills: - A commitment to applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in an educational context. - A university qualification or substantial knowledge and experience within the university environment. - Proven experience in a coordination or administrative role. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. - A track record of delivering excellent customer service. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and databases, along with touch typing and a high data entry rate. - Exceptional attention to detail. - Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. - Experience in delivering high-quality training.
