About the Role
We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our Assessment, Treatment, and Rehabilitation (ATR) ward at Timaru Hospital, located in a newly constructed facility. In this dynamic environment, you will play a key role in providing care and support to patients under the direction and supervision of registered nurses. Your responsibilities will also include essential housekeeping tasks to maintain the ward’s cleanliness and efficiency.
Every day in this role presents new challenges, ensuring that no two days are the same.
About You
To be successful in this position, you should ideally have relevant work experience, preferably with a recognized healthcare provider. Key attributes we are looking for include:
- Experience in assisting individuals with significant healthcare needs
- Well-developed communication skills that enhance the patient experience
- A willingness to support the wider team and seek assistance when needed
- Initiative in identifying and addressing tasks that require attention
- Cultural sensitivity and empathy towards others
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of your work
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
