About the Role
We are searching for resilient, energetic, and conscientious individuals to join our team as Support Workers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in various responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering and bathing
- Supporting household management and meal preparation
- Facilitating exercise programs
- Assisting individuals in accessing community resources
- Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care
- Performing moving and handling tasks, including the use of hoists and manual transfers
- Supporting medication management
Job Location: South Canterbury (Timaru, Geraldine, Temuka, Fairlie, Oamaru)
Employment Type: Part-Time (Up to 29 Hours)

Days of Work: This position involves community-based work with rotating rosters, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Your preferred hours can be discussed during the recruitment process. The duration of these hours may vary based on the specific needs of the individuals we support.
Requirements
We are looking for calm yet confident individuals who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges faced by our service users. The role of a support worker comes with various responsibilities that can be both challenging and fulfilling. It is especially rewarding to be part of a support system that empowers individuals to thrive within their communities.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Prior personal care experience is preferred, though not mandatory
- A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial; however, applicants looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered, as comprehensive training can be provided
- Access to a car and the ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is required)
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Legal right to work in New Zealand is essential

We offer a competitive pay structure, with hourly rates ranging from $24.13 to $30.03, based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017, assessed under equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications. Additional benefits include:
