    Bay of Plenty District Hospital and Specialist Services We are offering a six-month fixed-term contract with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, an organization committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our goal is to build a health system that serves all New Zealanders effectively. About the Role We are seeking two skilled and motivated HR People Partners to join our team on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality HR support across the organization. Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, you will provide comprehensive HR advice and services, addressing everything from daily operational matters to the implementation of strategic initiatives. About the Team/Service/Location You will be part of our supportive and collaborative People and Culture team, where partnership is central to our approach. In this role, you will work closely with managers and employees in your assigned portfolios to understand their HR needs, provide practical guidance, and assist them in navigating both everyday matters and larger strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of new policies, contributing to change and transformation programs, and managing employee relations. You will actively enable positive outcomes for both our people and the organization. You will collaborate with a wider team of experienced People Partners and subject matter experts within the People and Culture function, sharing knowledge, best practices, and ensuring we deliver a seamless and high-value HR service. About You We are looking for a people-focused HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, collaborating with others, and finding practical solutions that create real impact. With a solid foundation in generalist HR, you should be confident in managing a busy workload and contributing to meaningful outcomes. Here are the key qualifications and skills we are looking for: - A solid understanding of New Zealand employment and Health and Safety legislation. - Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment, with confidence in making decisions and meeting deadlines. - A natural curiosity and willingness to learn about the organization, our health services, and the communities we serve. - Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - A strong team player mentality, with the ability to work independently when necessary. - Leadership and management capabilities, with a focus on inspiring others and building engaged, high-performing teams through inclusive leadership. - Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence, present persuasively, and develop lasting relationships that support sustainable outcomes. - Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to contribute to strategies, prioritize work, and deliver results. - Operational management experience, with the ability to monitor performance, make informed decisions, and ensure smooth operations. - A focus on continuous improvement, openness to new ideas, and encouragement of constructive conversations. - Comfort with ambiguity and change, maintaining calmness in uncertain environments. - A solid understanding of compliance and risk management, ensuring we meet our legal and regulatory obligations in a safe and ethical manner.
