About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor at Brosnan, you will collaborate closely with the project team, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects from the initiation of the project through to its completion.
Your expertise in commercial contract law will be essential, as you will draft subcontractor agreements, assess payment claims and variations, enforce contract compliance, and manage risks effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Negotiate favorable outcomes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Engage in risk management and problem-solving activities.
- Manage the procurement of subcontractors.
- Compile and finalize subcontract agreements.
- Assess and process payment claims and variations.
- Measure, estimate, and evaluate variation claims.
- Establish rates based on first principles.
- Prepare and submit variation claims.
- Mentor junior quantity surveyors.
- Conduct monthly cost reporting and maintain accurate cost forecasting.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with carpentry teams to ensure efficient tracking of labor and materials.
Requirements
- A background in commercial construction is essential.
- A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- A collaborative attitude and a passion for teamwork.
- A decisive mindset with a focus on solutions.
- Familiarity with CostX (training will be provided).
- Experience with CAT Projects (training will be provided).
