About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Edible Oil Tanker Operator to become part of our skilled team. This position is based in Timaru and involves a work schedule from Friday to Tuesday, with the potential for additional shifts on Wednesday and Thursday based on customer demand. Flexibility is essential, as overnight work may be required to accommodate business and seasonal needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and professional in-cab environment, prioritizing safety, vehicle maintenance, and operation to meet the high standards of our valued customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand product density to accurately calculate volume and weight.
- Perform thorough inspections of the truck and tanker.
- Complete Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures as necessary.
- Manage inbound deliveries, confirming volumes and transporting three-quarter loads to the port.
- Oversee outbound operations, which include loading oil blends, completing paperwork, collecting samples, and offloading tankers.
- Carry out overnight trips as required.
- Adhere strictly to site PPE and quality compliance standards in accordance with MPI regulations.
Work Pattern
This is a full-time, permanent position with a regular roster:
- Dayshift: Friday to Tuesday (Wednesday and Thursday shifts as needed)
- Average shift duration: 10-12 hours
What You Bring to the Table
- A Class 5 Licence (or equivalent) and B-Train with a minimum of two years' experience in both.
- Experience carting with HPMV permitting up to 60 tonnes.
- Live load experience with edible oil is essential.
- F, DG endorsement and OSH Certificate are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the South Island.
- Flexibility and reliability for both day and night shifts.
- An aptitude for learning new technology and adaptability to changes.
