Our goal is to enable our clients to focus on their core businesses by delivering total transport solutions. About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Class 5 driver for our Timaru site. This role will primarily involve working Monday to Friday during the day shift, with occasional night shifts and weekend work as required. Flexibility is essential to accommodate business and seasonal needs. Duties In your day-to-day role, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive company image, as you will represent Hilton Haulage. It is vital to comply with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, including completing necessary health and safety inductions for customer sites. You will work collaboratively as a member of the driving team, completing assigned tasks and assisting fellow drivers when needed. This includes attending Toolbox meetings, conducting pre-start inspection checks, and ensuring your vehicle is maintained to a high standard. Driving safely and defensively is crucial, as is considering various factors such as weight limits, hazardous materials regulations, and weather and traffic conditions. Skills and Experience To qualify for this role, you should have a minimum of two years of experience in a Class 5 driving position. A strong geographical knowledge of the South Island is essential.
