About the Role We are currently seeking an HR Business Partner to support our People Partnering Lead. This role will provide comprehensive operational HR advice and services, including the delivery and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and processes. You will take autonomous accountability for a specific service or set of services within our organization. As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with managers and employees in your assigned service to understand operational needs and HR requirements. Your support will be crucial in helping the service achieve its goals, particularly in areas such as culture and performance development. Our dedicated HR team supports approximately 1,000 staff members in the South Canterbury district. We pride ourselves on being service-oriented, well-connected to the business, and providing friendly and professional HR support. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, covering a team member on parental leave. About You We are looking for candidates with solid HR generalist experience, ideally at the business partner or senior advisor level. Our ideal candidate will: - Have experience navigating complex environments and relationships, preferably in a highly unionized setting. - Be able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. - Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence in decision-making. - Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship management skills, enabling effective influence at all organizational levels.
