About the Role
We are excited to announce a fixed-term opportunity for a Registered Midwife at Te Whatu Ora Lakes. Our busy secondary care maternity unit manages approximately 1,250 births annually and offers a comprehensive range of secondary obstetric services.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical midwifery services in line with the Midwifery Council’s scope of practice. You will also be involved in delivering both primary and secondary maternity services as part of our inter-disciplinary clinical teams. An essential aspect of your role will be your commitment to maintaining clinical skills according to our organizational best practice guidelines and participating in continuous quality improvement activities.

About You
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:
- Current New Zealand Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate in Midwifery.
- A Midwifery Certificate along with recent clinical experience in midwifery practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all stakeholders.
- A commitment to being a collaborative team player.
- Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a willingness to begin your learning journey.
- Experience in projects or initiatives that align with the principles of Te Tiriti and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches within healthcare.
