About the Role We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Lakes Rotorua Hospital. In this full-time role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team while also maintaining your clinical skills, with 0.2 FTE allocated for direct clinical workload. As the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff and resources within the SCBU and the Child Health Outreach Specialists team (CHOS). You will work closely with the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide professional nursing leadership and support, fostering an environment that promotes the development and maintenance of high standards of nursing care. Your goal will be to enhance client care outcomes through continuous quality improvement in nursing and clinical service delivery. About the Team/Service/Location The SCBU at Lakes DHB is a level two neonatal unit equipped with 10 beds, providing care for sick and/or preterm infants greater than 32 weeks gestation. The Children's Outreach Nursing Service caters to children with acute and chronic illnesses in their homes throughout the Lakes area, supported by a team of experienced children's nurses available five days a week. About You We are looking for an experienced neonatal nurse who possesses advanced clinical skills and a strong commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and family-centered care to newborns and their families. Your experience in supporting, guiding, and inspiring nursing teams will help foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Your calm and organized approach will enable you to manage the demands of a busy neonatal unit while focusing on staff wellbeing, equitable care, and achieving the best outcomes for our most vulnerable patients.
