We manage a collection of 27 properties across two neighboring sites along the breathtaking waterfront in Kaikoura. Our focus is on providing exceptional guest experiences in our Waterfront Apartments and Beach Motel, and we are looking for a dedicated individual to help us achieve that. About the Role We are seeking a part-time hospitality superstar to fill the position of Second-in-Charge (2IC) Receptionist/Manager. This is not your typical front desk position; it is an opportunity to blend your passion for guest service, your technical skills, and your attention to detail. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager, ensuring smooth operations and creating memorable stays for our guests. You will serve as our guest relations specialist, taking on receptionist or 2IC Manager responsibilities, with the potential to transition into a full-time role in the future. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing online booking channels, coordinating housekeeping schedules, and stepping into the Manager role during their absence to maintain seamless operations. Key Responsibilities - Act as the permanent part-time guest relations specialist, ready to take over in a full-time capacity when needed. - Collaborate with the Manager to ensure exceptional guest service from booking to check-out. - Cover the Manager's responsibilities on their days off, which may include overnight stays. - Efficiently manage online booking channels, including Airbnb, Booking.com, and Expedia, along with property management systems. - Coordinate housekeeping schedules and conduct quality checks to uphold our 5-star standards. - Greet and farewell guests, process payments, and promptly resolve any issues. - Monitor maintenance needs and liaise with contractors to ensure everything functions smoothly. - Step into the Manager role during absences to guarantee uninterrupted operations. About You We are looking for candidates who have: - Experience in hospitality, particularly in hotels, motels, or short-term rentals. - Confidence with booking platforms and technology, with a knack for finding efficient solutions. - Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine service mindset. - Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. - Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
