About the Company

About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Head Shepherd to join our close-knit team at Rangitāiki Station. In this key leadership position, you will report directly to the Farm Operations Manager (Sheep + Beef) and be responsible for the daily coordination of stock work. Your duties will include planning and overseeing mustering, animal health treatments, and feeding.
You will collaborate closely with other shepherds and staff, offering support, guidance, and hands-on leadership to ensure that our operations run safely and efficiently. This role provides a variety of tasks, from working with sheep, cattle, and deer to engaging in breeding programs, data collection, pasture management, and environmental care.
As Head Shepherd, you will be expected to take initiative, communicate effectively, and foster a positive and collaborative team culture. With the backing of an experienced Farm Business Manager and access to professional development opportunities, this role represents an excellent advancement for someone ready to lead on a dynamic and progressive property.
