    About the Company The Open Home Foundation (OHF) is a distinguished Christian Community Response organization dedicated to the belief that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to grow up in a secure and loving family environment. Our vision emphasizes the importance of providing care that positively impacts children's lives and fosters their well-being throughout their journey. About the Role We are currently expanding our team and are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our West Coast Service Centre. The ideal candidate will be aligned with our vision and possess the ability to work closely with tamariki, rangatahi, whanau, and the community. This role emphasizes a strengths-based and culturally appropriate approach that promotes family well-being, or whanau mauri ora. Requirements To be successful in this position, candidates should meet the following qualifications: - A Social Work qualification with a minimum of three years of experience - Registration with the Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) or eligibility for registration - Knowledge and experience in Care and Protection Social Work - Familiarity with The Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and its Family Court processes - A strong understanding of the special relationship between Māori and Tauiwi, alongside empathy for our organization's unique character - A minimum of two years’ experience in care and protection social work and trauma-informed practice - A passion for supporting caregivers of tamariki and rangatahi - A full New Zealand driver’s license, as travel between Westport and Hokitika is essential - Alignment with the Open Home Foundation’s Christian Kaupapa Benefits This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $68,038 to $102,000 per annum, based on experience.
