About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and conscientious individual to join our team as a Community Support Worker. In this rewarding role, you will support clients living with complex injuries and disabilities in their homes. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with personal care, providing home help, shopping assistance, and meal preparation. You will also support exercise programs, assist with moving and handling using hoists and manual transfers, and help clients access their communities.
This position involves community-based work, and as such, you will be required to work on a rotating roster that includes morning, evening, and weekend shifts. We encourage you to discuss your preferred hours during the recruitment process.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience in personal care is essential
- Experience in complex care (including bowel and SPC care) and managing challenging behaviors is preferred
- A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing would be an advantage, though we are open to candidates looking to build a career in the healthcare industry
- Access to your own vehicle and a full driver’s license is required for this community-based role
- Flexibility to work on a roster, including weekends
- Strong communication skills
- Legal rights to work in New Zealand
Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from $24.13 to $30.03 per hour, based on the Pay Equity Settlement by the Ministry of Health, which assesses hourly pay rates according to the equivalency of healthcare qualifications.
